Quick verdict

Here's the short version. The Bosch GSB 500 RE kit is the strongest all round pick, with a 4.4 rating from more than 26,000 buyers and a 100 piece tool kit in the box. For a little over half the price, the Black+Decker KR554RE adds a 13 mm chuck and carries a 4.3 rating from more than 19,000 buyers. On paper, the Bosch GSB 600 has the most power and speed. Pick the Bosch GSR 120 Li if you want cordless, for screws and light drilling. The IBELL ID13 75 offers the longest warranty, and the Black+Decker TB555 is the cheapest drill in this group.

Many homes need a drill a few times a year: a curtain rod, a TV mount, a shelf, a wall clock. For that kind of work, a corded impact drill is the usual choice, because it has a hammer mode that gets through brick and concrete walls. A cordless drill driver is lighter and easier to carry around, but it's built mainly for screws, wood and thin metal.

This guide lines up six drills from Bosch, Black+Decker and IBELL. We opened each Amazon.in product page and copied down the price, the rating, the number of ratings, the seller rank, the power, the chuck size, the speed, what comes in the box and the warranty. Where a listing says two different things about itself, we flag it rather than picking one.

One thing to know before you compare. Chuck size is the widest bit a drill can hold. With a 10 mm chuck, you can fit the bit sizes common wall plugs need. Bigger holes call for a 13 mm chuck.

How to choose

Corded or cordless?

Pick corded if you'll drill into brick or concrete walls. All five corded drills here list a hammer or impact mode for that. Pick cordless if most of your jobs are screws and furniture, or if there's no socket near where you work. The Bosch GSR 120 Li is the only cordless option here, and its listing doesn't mention a hammer mode.

Is 10 mm or 13 mm chuck better?

A 10 mm chuck handles the common sizes for wall plugs at home. A 13 mm chuck takes larger bits, which helps for bigger holes and some fittings. Three drills here have 13 mm chucks: the Black+Decker KR554RE, the Bosch GSB 600 and the IBELL ID13 75.

Do you need a kit?

If you don't own any bits or hand tools, a kit saves a second purchase. The two Bosch kits come with the most in the box. The Black+Decker TB555 comes with nothing extra, so add the cost of bits to its price.

How much power is enough?

For occasional home jobs, any drill here is in the usual range. Higher wattage helps with harder walls and larger bits. The listings show 500 W to 650 W for the corded drills, and wattage alone doesn't tell you how a drill holds up over years.

Plan for safety and power

Use the side handle for wall work, and wear eye protection. Before drilling into a wall, check where pipes and wiring run. If you plug a drill into a strip, our surge protector guide covers extension boards with enough rating for power tools.

1. Bosch GSB 500 RE Tool Kit: best overall

₹4,399

4.4 out of 5 on Amazon.in (26,253 ratings)

₹4,399 (as of 03 Oct 2026, 05:03 IST)

No drill here has more buyers behind it. The Bosch GSB 500 RE carries a 4.4 rating from more than 26,000 ratings, and it ranked fourth in Drill Sets on the day we checked.

According to the listing, it's a 500 watt corded impact drill with a 10 mm chuck, a top speed of 2,600 RPM and an impact rate of up to 41,600 blows per minute. A variable speed trigger lets you start slow. Two modes, normal and impact, cover brick, metal and wood.

This is the kit version. You get a 100 piece tool set in the box, and the title states a one year warranty.

  • Power: 500 W, corded
  • Chuck: 10 mm
  • Speed: Up to 2,600 RPM
  • Impact rate: Up to 41,600 per minute
  • In the box: 100 piece tool kit
  • Warranty: 1 year

Good

  • Most ratings of any drill here, at 4.4.
  • Kit includes a 100 piece tool set.
  • Impact mode for brick and concrete walls.

Watch out

  • 10 mm chuck, smaller than three others here.
  • Lowest power of the corded drills here.

Before you pay: The details table lists an item weight of 4.4 kg, which likely includes the kit box. The listing doesn't give the drill's own weight separately.

2. Black+Decker KR554RE: best value

₹2,579

4.3 out of 5 on Amazon.in (19,242 ratings)

₹2,579 (as of 03 Oct 2026, 05:03 IST)

More than 19,000 buyers have rated the Black+Decker KR554RE, and they average 4.3. For a little over half the Bosch kit's price, that's a lot of confidence.

On paper it's a 550 watt corded hammer drill with a 13 mm chuck, up to 2,800 RPM and up to 47,600 blows per minute. Stated capacity is 20 mm in wood and 13 mm in steel and masonry. A 2 metre cable and a lock on button help with long holes.

What's in the box? A chuck key, a depth gauge, an auxiliary handle and 4 wood bits. Metal drill bits aren't included, the listing says. Warranty runs one year.

  • Power: 550 W, corded
  • Chuck: 13 mm
  • Speed: Up to 2,800 RPM
  • Impact rate: Up to 47,600 per minute
  • Capacity: Wood 20 mm, steel and masonry 13 mm
  • Cable: 2 metres
  • Weight: 2.22 kg
  • Warranty: 1 year

Good

  • 13 mm chuck takes larger bits.
  • Second highest number of ratings here.
  • Depth gauge and side handle included.

Watch out

  • Only wood bits in the box.
  • No tool kit, unlike the two Bosch kits.

Before you pay: The listing states that metal drill bits are not included. Budget for a masonry bit if you plan to drill into walls.

3. Bosch GSB 600 Kit: most power

₹5,199

4.4 out of 5 on Amazon.in (1,505 ratings)

₹5,199 (as of 03 Oct 2026, 05:03 IST)

If raw numbers matter most, look here. Bosch lists the GSB 600 with a 600 watt motor, a 13 mm chuck, up to 3,000 RPM and up to 48,000 blows per minute. It ranked second in Drill Sets on the day we checked, rated 4.4 by about 1,500 buyers.

Forward and reverse rotation come standard, along with double insulation. Bosch says it suits brick, metal and wood, plus hole sawing and driving screws.

Inside the box sits a 98 piece drill bit set, a depth gauge and an auxiliary handle. One year of warranty applies from the invoice date, and you'll need the invoice copy to claim it.

  • Power: 600 W, corded
  • Chuck: 13 mm
  • Speed: Up to 3,000 RPM
  • Impact rate: Up to 48,000 per minute
  • In the box: 98 piece bit set, depth gauge, side handle
  • Weight: 1.9 kg
  • Warranty: 1 year, invoice needed

Good

  • Most power and speed of the six.
  • 13 mm chuck plus a large bit set.
  • Rated 4.4.

Watch out

  • Most expensive drill here.
  • Far fewer ratings than the GSB 500 RE.

Before you pay: The listing gives two different speeds, 3,000 RPM in the title and 2,600 RPM in the details table. Check the box or the manual when it arrives.

4. Bosch GSR 120 Li Cordless: best cordless

₹3,717

4.4 out of 5 on Amazon.in (3,316 ratings)

₹3,717 (as of 03 Oct 2026, 05:03 IST)

Only one drill in this group has no cable. The Bosch GSR 120 Li ranked first in Drill Drivers on the day we checked, with a 4.4 rating from more than 3,300 buyers.

It runs on 12 volts, with two gears: up to 400 RPM for control and up to 1,500 RPM for speed. Torque reaches 30 Nm on hard joints and 14 Nm on soft ones, across 20 plus 1 settings, with a 10 mm chuck. One 12V battery and one charger come with it, per the title.

Think of it as a drill driver, not an impact drill. No hammer mode appears on the listing, so it's best for screws, furniture assembly, wood and thin metal rather than concrete.

  • Power: 12 V battery
  • Chuck: 10 mm
  • Speed: Up to 400 / 1,500 RPM
  • Torque: 30 Nm hard, 14 Nm soft
  • Torque settings: 20 plus 1
  • In the box: 1 battery, 1 charger
  • Warranty: Listing states 1 year and 6 months

Good

  • No cable, so it reaches anywhere.
  • Torque settings for driving screws.
  • Rated 4.4 and ranked first in its category.

Watch out

  • No hammer mode listed.
  • One battery, so long jobs need a break to charge.

Before you pay: The title states a 1 year warranty, but the details table says 6 months. Confirm the warranty with the seller before you buy.

5. IBELL ID13 75: longest warranty

₹1,835

4.1 out of 5 on Amazon.in (4,477 ratings)

₹1,835 (as of 03 Oct 2026, 05:03 IST)

Top seller in Power Drills on the day we checked, the IBELL ID13 75 also has the lowest rating of the six: 4.1 from close to 4,500 buyers.

IBELL lists a 650 watt impact drill with a 13 mm chuck, up to 2,800 RPM and two modes, drilling and impact. A two speed mechanical gear adds torque at low speed. Stated capacity is 25 mm in wood, 12 mm in steel and 13 mm in concrete.

Inside you'll find an auxiliary handle, a depth gauge and 4 masonry drill bits. Warranty is where it stands out: 6 months standard, plus 18 more when you register, for 24 months in all.

  • Power: 650 W, corded
  • Chuck: 13 mm
  • Speed: Up to 2,800 RPM
  • Gears: 2 speed mechanical
  • Capacity: Wood 25 mm, steel 12 mm, concrete 13 mm

  • Warranty: 6 months, 24 with registration

Good

  • Up to 24 months of warranty with registration.
  • Masonry bits included for wall work.
  • Highest stated power here, at 650 W.

Watch out

  • Lowest rating of the six, at 4.1.
  • Full warranty needs registration.

Before you pay: The listing gives two weights, 1.77 kg in the description and 2.6 kg in the details table. Register the drill after purchase, or you get only the 6 month standard warranty.

6. Black+Decker TB555: lowest price

₹1,788

4.3 out of 5 on Amazon.in (4,328 ratings)

₹1,788 (as of 03 Oct 2026, 05:03 IST)

Cheapest of the six on the day we checked, the Black+Decker TB555 still holds a 4.3 rating from more than 4,300 buyers.

It's a 550 watt corded hammer drill with a 10 mm chuck, up to 2,900 RPM and up to 47,600 blows per minute. You also get a drilling and hammering mode, variable speed, forward and reverse, and a lock on button.

Just the drill comes in the box. No bits, depth gauge or side handle are mentioned. Black+Decker gives one year of warranty from the date of purchase.

  • Power: 550 W, corded
  • Chuck: 10 mm
  • Speed: Up to 2,900 RPM
  • Impact rate: Up to 47,600 per minute
  • Weight: 1.74 kg
  • In the box: Drill only
  • Warranty: 1 year

Good

  • Lowest price of the six.
  • Rated 4.3 by more than 4,300 buyers.
  • Hammer mode for walls.

Watch out

  • No bits or accessories in the box.
  • 10 mm chuck.

Before you pay: The listing says the package contains the drill only. Add the cost of a few bits before you compare it with the kits above.

How we compared

We opened each Amazon.in product page on 03 Oct 2026, 05:03 IST and copied down the price, the rating, the number of ratings, the seller rank, the stated power, the chuck size, the speed, the impact rate, what comes in the box and the warranty. Where a listing said two different things about itself, we show both or flag it, rather than picking one for you.

We have not used these drills ourselves, and this page doesn't claim otherwise. It compares what the listings, the ratings and the specifications say, side by side. Power, speed and capacity figures above are the brands' own claims from their listings, not our measurements. Our other buying guides follow the same method.

Questions people ask

Which drill machine is best for home use in India?

For most homes, a corded impact drill with a hammer mode is the practical choice, because it can drill into brick walls. In this comparison, the Bosch GSB 500 RE kit had the most ratings at 4.4, and the Black+Decker KR554RE offered a 13 mm chuck at a lower price.

Can a cordless drill go into concrete walls?

It depends on the drill. The Bosch GSR 120 Li in this list is a drill driver, and its listing doesn't mention a hammer mode, so it suits screws, wood and thin metal. For concrete and brick, pick a drill whose listing states a hammer or impact mode.

Do drill machines come with drill bits?

Some do. Of the six here, the two Bosch kits include large bit sets, the IBELL includes 4 masonry bits, and the Black+Decker KR554RE includes 4 wood bits. The Black+Decker TB555 listing says the box has the drill only.
