How to choose
Read GSM as fill weight, not a warmth rating
GSM means grams per square metre. On a comforter listing, it gives how much fill sits in each square metre, so a 400 GSM comforter holds twice the fill of a 200 GSM one of the same size. More fill of the same fibre usually means a warmer comforter, but GSM measures weight, not warmth.
Warmth has its own unit, the tog. Wikipedia's tog page says the tog measures thermal resistance. British duvets come in steps of 1.5 tog, from 3.0 for summer to 16.5 for extra warm, with 12.0 to 13.5 for winter. None of these six lists a tog figure, so GSM is the only guide these listings give.
Pick the GSM for your winter
Most comforters near the top of Amazon.in's Bedding Comforters list sit at 200 to 220 GSM, and their listings sell them for AC rooms and winter alike. Solimo and Wakefit are in that group. Razzai sits at 300 GSM, SleepyCat and the Cottington Lane rajai at 400, and Earthlycozy at 500.
None of these six listings ties its GSM to a room temperature, so treat each winter label as the seller's own. If your room stays cold at night, a 400 GSM comforter puts twice the fill of a 200 GSM one over you. In a milder winter, 200 to 220 GSM with a blanket for the coldest weeks may be enough.
Check the weight against the GSM
The listed weight lets you check the GSM claim. Multiply the GSM by the size in square metres to get the fill weight. Wakefit's 220 GSM over 2.54 × 2.28 m gives about 1.3 kg of fill inside a 2.42 kg comforter, and SleepyCat's 400 GSM gives about 2.3 kg inside 3 kg. Both add up.
Two don't. Razzai's 300 GSM fill would weigh about 1.7 kg at its listed size, more than its 1.5 kg item weight. The Cottington Lane rajai's 400 GSM would weigh about 2.3 kg, more than its 2 kg. A comforter must weigh more than its fill, so one row on each of those pages is wrong.
Check the size row, not only the title
Most double comforters here give 90 × 100 inches, about 2.29 × 2.54 m. Wakefit, Razzai and the Cottington Lane rajai list that size in their rows. SleepyCat's title says 90 × 100 inches, but its dimension row says centimetres.
Solimo's and Earthlycozy's size rows say about 2.28 × 1.52 m, a metre narrower. Solimo's bullet gives 7.5 × 8.3 ft instead, so its row may be wrong. Measure your mattress, add the overhang you want on each side, and compare that with the size on the comforter when it arrives.
Plan the wash, and add heat if you need it
Five of the six care rows say machine wash, some with a gentle or cold cycle. Earthlycozy's row says hand wash only, while its bullet says machine washable. A 3 kg comforter gets much heavier with water in it, so check your washing machine's load limit first, and dry it fully before you fold it away.

Solimo is Amazon's own brand, and this double comforter ranks first in Amazon.in's Bedding Comforters list. Its 4.2 comes from 71,800 buyers, more than ten times the next count here. At ₹1,099, it's also the cheapest of the six. The bullets list a 200 GSM siliconized polyester fill, a microfibre shell, machine stitching to hold the fill in place and machine washing.
200 GSM is the lightest fill here. If your room gets cold at night, you may need a heavier fill or a second layer. The size row says 2.29 × 1.52 m, but a bullet says 7.5 × 8.3 ft, about 2.29 × 2.53 m. Those can't both be right. The thread count row says 50, the lowest here, and we found no warranty row.

The fill row reads 220 GSM, AC and winter, and the bullets describe virgin siliconized microfiber inside a micro peach finish polyester shell. It costs ₹1,478.
The size row says 2.54 × 2.28 m, which matches the 100 × 90 inch title, and the item weighs 2.42 kg. That fits a 220 GSM fill at that size. The bullets pitch it for winter nights and AC rooms alike, and 220 GSM is only a little more fill than Solimo's 200. The care row asks for a gentle machine wash and a low tumble dry or a full air dry. We found no warranty row.

It has the highest score here, 4.5, but only 33 buyers stand behind it. It ranks #21 in Bedding Comforters and costs ₹3,191 on the day we checked.
The weight fits the claim. A 400 GSM fill at the 90 × 100 inch title size, about 2.29 × 2.54 m, weighs about 2.3 kg, and the item row says 3 kg. The dimensions row says 90 × 100 centimetres, though, which can only mean inches. Its special feature row calls it lightweight at 3 kg, the joint heaviest here. The listing pulls in two directions. Its title says heavy winter quilt, then lightweight, then duvet for all seasons. The enclosure row says cotton, while the title says microfibre. At 400 GSM over 2.54 × 2.28 m, the fill alone would weigh about 2.3 kg, yet the item weight row says 2 kg. We found no warranty row.

Two rows clash with the rest of the page. The title calls a 500 GSM comforter all season and lightweight. Its care row says hand wash only, while a bullet says machine washable. We opened each Amazon.in product page on 26 Oct 2026, 03:28 IST and copied the price, the rating, the number of ratings, the rank, the fill, size, weight, care and warranty rows, and every claim in the bullets. We started from Amazon.in's Bedding Comforters best seller list, added heavier listings found by web search, and kept six double comforters from six brands, from 200 to 500 GSM.
For warmth, we read Wikipedia's page on the tog. We have not slept under any of these comforters, and we won't pretend otherwise. The fill weights are our own sums of GSM times the listed size. Where a listing says two different things, we print both and flag it. Prices on Amazon.in change often, so the price on the day we checked may differ from the one you see.
