Quick verdict

The Logitech B170 had the strongest record in this group on the day we checked: a 4.3 rating from more than 79,000 buyers at ₹445. If you'd rather recharge than buy batteries, the Portronics Toad One matched that 4.3 rating at ₹579 and adds Bluetooth. On the tightest budget, the Portronics Toad 23 held a 4.0 rating at ₹249.

A basic wireless mouse is one of the cheapest upgrades for a laptop, and one of the easiest to get wrong. The listings all promise comfort and precision. What actually separates them is how they're powered, whether they connect over Bluetooth or only a USB receiver, how loud the clicks are, and how many buyers stand behind the rating.

We lined up six wireless mice priced at ₹600 or less from Logitech, Portronics, HP and Zebronics. We read each Amazon.in product page on the date shown and copied down the price, the rating, the number of ratings, the seller rank in Mice, and the battery, DPI and button details each listing states.

One listing in this group states two different battery figures on the same page, so read the notes under each pick. If you game, our gaming mouse comparison covers mice built for that.

How to choose

Batteries or recharging?

Most cheap wireless mice run on an AA battery that lasts months. The Logitech B170 lists 12 months on one battery. A rechargeable mouse like the Portronics Toad One never needs a battery bought, but its listing says a charge lasts up to 9 days, so it needs plugging in regularly. Pick batteries if you forget to charge things, and recharging if you hate buying cells.

Does your laptop have a spare USB port?

Every mouse here comes with a small USB receiver. Thin laptops often have only one or two USB A ports, or none at all. The Toad One is the only pick that also connects over Bluetooth, which leaves your ports free. If your laptop has only Type C ports, check that you have an adapter for the others.

Do you work near other people?

Click noise matters more than most people expect in a shared room or a quiet office. The HP M290 is the only listing here that states a noise reduction figure, up to 90% on the main buttons. The others make no quiet click claim, so assume a normal click.

Will you type a lot too?

If you're setting up a desk for long work sessions, a matching keyboard makes a bigger difference than mouse DPI. Our wireless keyboard comparison covers options that pair well with any of these. For a laptop on a bed or sofa, our laptop table guide helps with the rest of the setup.

How we compared

We opened each Amazon.in product page on 10 Oct 2026, 15:26 IST and copied down the price, the rating, the number of ratings, the seller rank in Mice, and every battery, connection, DPI and button detail each listing states. Where a listing doesn't state a figure, the table says so. Where a listing states two different figures, we show both and flag it.

We have not held or clicked these mice ourselves. This page compares what each listing, its rating and its stated specifications say. Comfort depends on your hand size, which no listing can measure for you, so if you can, try a similar shape in a shop before you decide.
