Quick verdict

The GOVO GOSURROUND 900 had the highest rating here, 4.4 from 3,372 buyers, with a 6.5 inch subwoofer and HDMI ARC at ₹4,999. For rear speakers at the same price, the boAt Aavante Bar Prime B160 is the only real 5.1 set in this list. On a tight budget, the boAt Aavante Bar 490 cost ₹799 and ranked #2 in Soundbar Speakers.

A TV's built in speakers often sound thin, and a soundbar is the usual fix. Under ₹5,000 on Amazon.in, you'll find everything from a ₹799 battery bar to a 5.1 set with rear speakers. The listings all promise big sound, so we compared the parts they actually name.

We looked at seven soundbars from GOVO, boAt, Zebronics and Mivi. For each one, we read the product page on the date shown and copied down the price, the rating, the number of ratings, the seller rank, the channels, the subwoofer, the stated power and the inputs.

If you can spend a little more, our soundbar under ₹10,000 comparison covers Sony, boAt and Zebronics models above ₹5,000. Prices on Amazon.in change often, so treat every figure here as a snapshot from the date printed beside it.

How to choose

Does your TV have an ARC port?

The HDMI Licensing Administrator describes eARC, the newer version of the Audio Return Channel, as a way to send a TV's sound to a soundbar through a single HDMI cable. The five TV bars here list HDMI ARC, the earlier version.

Look for an ARC label next to one of your TV's HDMI ports. If it has none, an optical cable is the usual fallback, and the Juke BAR 3902 lists that input most clearly. Shopping for the TV too? Our LED TV under ₹30,000 comparison covers the screen side.

Real 5.1 or virtual 5.1?

Only the boAt Aavante Bar Prime B160 names physical rear speakers, two wired satellites you place behind you. That's the closest any bar here gets to sound from behind your seat.

The Juke BAR 3902 and Zeb Sonic BAR 100 list virtual 5.1, and neither listing names rear speakers. If you can't run cables to the back of the room, a 2.1 bar such as the GOVO keeps the setup to the front.

Read the watts with care

Power figures on these listings don't line up. The GOVO gives 200 W as a peak figure. On the boAt B160, the listing calls the same 160 W both RMS and peak. And the Juke BAR 3902 says 140 W in its title but 100 W in its bullets.

A peak figure is a short burst, and RMS is a steady output, so the two don't compare directly. The channel count and the subwoofer size often tell you more about the sound you'll get than the watts on the box.

Do you want a TV bar or a battery bar?

The boAt Aavante Bar 610 and Bar 490 run on batteries and connect mainly over Bluetooth. Neither lists HDMI. They suit a bedroom, a desk or a balcony more than a fixed spot under the TV.

If you mostly play music from your phone, our Bluetooth speaker comparison covers portable options under ₹2,000.

The Mivi Fort H120 is the cheapest bar here with a separate subwoofer. At ₹2,899, its listing names a 2.1 setup: two full range speakers in the bar and a wired external subwoofer. Its title says it's made in India.

How we compared

We opened each Amazon.in product page on 18 Oct 2026, 04:24 IST and copied down the price, the rating, the number of ratings, the seller rank, the channel layout, the subwoofer, the stated power and the inputs each listing names. Where a listing contradicted itself, we said so beside that product.

We have not listened to these soundbars ourselves. This page compares what each listing, its rating and its stated specifications say. Room size and TV placement change how any soundbar sounds, so treat the ratings as a guide, not a promise.
