Quick verdict

For a phone with a headphone jack, the boAt Bassheads 100 pairs a 4.1 rating with more than 57,000 ratings at ₹279. For a phone with only a USB Type C port, the Portronics Conch Theta C plugs straight in at ₹249 with a 4.1 rating. If you want a cable that comes off when it frays, the Skullcandy Jib is the one listing here that states a detachable cable.

Wired earphones are cheap enough that most people buy them on impulse, and that's exactly why the listings blur together. Nearly every one says deep bass, clear calls and a tangle free cable. The useful differences only show up when you line the listings up side by side: which plug they use, how many people rated them, what's in the box, and whether the cable can be replaced.

We put seven wired earphones priced at ₹499 or less next to each other, all from brands Indian buyers pick often on Amazon.in. We read each product page on the date shown and copied down the price, the rating, the number of ratings behind it, the seller rank, and the specifications each listing states.

Prices on Amazon.in move often, so treat each figure as a snapshot from the date next to it. If you'd rather go wireless, our guide to the best wireless earbuds under ₹2,000 covers that range.

How to choose

Does your phone have a headphone jack?

Check the bottom edge of your phone before anything else. If there's a small round hole, any of the 3.5mm pairs will plug straight in. If there's only the flat USB Type C port, the Portronics Conch Theta C is the one pair here that fits without an adapter. An adapter works with the others, but it's one more small part to lose.

Do you take a lot of calls?

All seven listings mention an in-line microphone, so any of them can handle a quick call. If calls are a big part of your day, look at the controls. The Bassheads 100 lists separate one, two and three click actions, and the JBL C50HI and Bassheads 211 list voice assistant access. For long work calls, our guide to earbuds for work calls goes deeper.

Are you rough on cables?

If your earphones usually die because the wire frays near the plug, the Skullcandy Jib is the only listing here that states a detachable cable. The two Portronics models describe anti tangle TPE cables instead. Neither feature guarantees a longer life, but both are aimed at the most common way cheap wired earphones fail.

Will you wear them at the gym?

Sweat is hard on cheap earphones. The Portronics Conch Theta A listing describes sweatproof, water resistant material, and the Zebronics Bro lists water resistance. If you'd rather lose the cable entirely for workouts, our neckband guide compares wireless options that sit around your neck.

1. boAt Bassheads 100: best overall

₹279

4.1 out of 5 on Amazon.in (57,156 ratings)

₹279 (as of 10 Oct 2026, 15:26 IST)

The Bassheads 100 sits at a 4.1 rating with 57,156 ratings behind it on the day we checked, the strongest mix of score and volume among the 3.5mm earphones here. The listing describes a 10mm dynamic driver with 16 ohm resistance and an HD microphone for calls.

Its controls are spelled out more clearly than most: one click to play, pause, answer or end a call, two clicks to skip forward and three clicks to go back. The cable is 1.2 metres, and the listing says the box includes additional earbuds along with a warranty card.

  • Plug: 3.5mm
  • Driver: 10mm, 16 ohm
  • Cable: 1.2 metres
  • Mic: HD microphone
  • In the box: Extra earbuds, warranty card

Good

  • Strong 4.1 rating from more than 57,000 buyers.
  • Clear one, two and three click controls listed.
  • Extra earbuds included, per the listing.

Watch out

  • Needs a 3.5mm jack, so phones without one need an adapter.
  • The listing doesn't state a warranty length.

2. boAt Bassheads 211: most ratings

₹249

4.0 out of 5 on Amazon.in (1,21,530 ratings)

₹249 (as of 10 Oct 2026, 15:26 IST)

The Bassheads 211 shows 121,530 ratings on its Amazon.in page, the most of any listing here, with a 4.0 average. It also ranked the highest of the 3.5mm models in Amazon's In-Ear Headphones list on the day we checked, at #7.

The listing states 10mm drivers, an in-line microphone, a multi function button and a 120 cm cable with a 3.5mm jack. It also says a quick press can launch Siri or Google Assistant, which the Bassheads 100 listing doesn't mention.

  • Plug: 3.5mm
  • Driver: 10mm
  • Cable: 120 cm
  • Voice assistant: Siri or Google Assistant, per the listing

Good

  • Most ratings of the seven, by a wide margin.
  • Voice assistant button listed.
  • Lowest price among the boAt pair, at ₹249.

Watch out

  • Rating is a little lower than the Bassheads 100, at 4.0.
  • Needs a 3.5mm jack.

Before you pay: A rating count this large on a listing can cover several colour options together. Check that the colour you pick shows the same price before you pay.

3. Portronics Conch Theta C: best for Type C phones

₹249

4.1 out of 5 on Amazon.in (13,707 ratings)

₹249 (as of 10 Oct 2026, 15:26 IST)

Many newer phones no longer have a headphone jack, and this is the only earphone in the group that plugs straight into a USB Type C port. It held a 4.1 rating from 13,707 buyers and ranked #3 in Amazon's In-Ear Headphones list on the day we checked, the highest rank of all seven.

The listing states 14.2mm drivers, in-line controls with a microphone, and a 1.2 metre TPE cable described as anti tangle. It costs the same ₹249 as the 3.5mm Theta A.

  • Plug: USB Type C
  • Driver: 14.2mm
  • Cable: 1.2 metres, TPE
  • Controls: In-line, with mic

Good

  • Plugs directly into Type C phones, no adapter.
  • Highest seller rank of the seven.
  • 4.1 rating at ₹249.

Watch out

  • Won't fit a 3.5mm jack without an adapter.
  • Fewer ratings than either boAt model.

Before you pay: The Amazon.in listing itself notes that some phones need the OTG Connection setting switched on before these work. If you can't find that setting on your phone, check with the seller before ordering.

4. Portronics Conch Theta A: sweat resistant pick

₹249

4.1 out of 5 on Amazon.in (4,058 ratings)

₹249 (as of 10 Oct 2026, 15:26 IST)

The Theta A shares the Theta C's 14.2mm drivers and anti tangle TPE cable, but uses a standard 3.5mm jack. Its listing goes further on durability, describing water resistant material that makes it sweatproof for workouts and rainy days.

It matched the 4.1 rating of its Type C sibling but from a much smaller base of 4,058 ratings, and ranked #42 on the day we checked. At ₹249, it's the same price as the Bassheads 211.

  • Plug: 3.5mm
  • Driver: 14.2mm
  • Cable: TPE, anti tangle
  • Sweat: Sweatproof, per the listing

Good

  • Sweatproof claim stated in the listing.
  • Larger 14.2mm drivers than the boAt pair.
  • 4.1 rating at ₹249.

Watch out

  • Only 4,058 ratings, the second smallest base here.
  • The listing doesn't state a cable length.

5. Skullcandy Jib: detachable cable

₹449

3.9 out of 5 on Amazon.in (9,504 ratings)

₹449 (as of 10 Oct 2026, 15:26 IST)

Cables are what usually fail first on cheap wired earphones, and the Jib's listing is the only one of the seven that describes a detachable cable. In principle, that means a worn cable can be swapped rather than the whole pair thrown away.

The listing also mentions soft ear gels in multiple sizes for a noise isolating seal, plus an in-line microphone and remote. It costs ₹449 with a 3.9 rating from 9,504 buyers on the day we checked.

  • Plug: 3.5mm
  • Cable: Detachable
  • Ear tips: Multiple sizes
  • Controls: In-line mic and remote

Good

  • Detachable cable, unique in this group.
  • Multiple ear gel sizes listed.
  • Works with phones, laptops and PCs, per the listing.

Watch out

  • Lower 3.9 rating than the boAt and Portronics models.
  • Costs ₹449, among the priciest here.

Before you pay: The listing doesn't say whether a replacement cable is sold separately in India. If that's why you're buying it, search for the cable before you order.

6. JBL C50HI: three ear tip sizes

₹499

3.9 out of 5 on Amazon.in (53,334 ratings)

₹499 (as of 10 Oct 2026, 15:26 IST)

The C50HI is the only JBL in this price band, at exactly ₹499. It held a 3.9 rating from 48,650 buyers on the day we checked, the third largest rating count of the seven.

Its listing is brief: JBL Signature Sound, a noise isolation microphone, a one button universal remote with mic, and quick access to Google Assistant or Siri. It's specific about the box, which holds the earphones, three sets of ear tips in small, medium and large, and a warranty card.

  • Plug: 3.5mm
  • Remote: One button, with mic
  • Voice assistant: Google Assistant or Siri
  • In the box: Ear tips in S, M and L

Good

  • Three ear tip sizes included.
  • Nearly 49,000 ratings behind it.
  • Voice assistant access listed.

Watch out

  • Most expensive of the seven, at ₹499.
  • Listing doesn't state driver size or cable length.

7. Zebronics Bro: lowest price

₹126

3.5 out of 5 on Amazon.in (16,255 ratings)

₹126 (as of 10 Oct 2026, 15:26 IST)

At ₹126, the Bro costs about half of the next cheapest pair. It ranked #31 in In-Ear Headphones on the day we checked, so plenty of buyers still choose it.

The tradeoff shows in the score. Its 3.5 rating from 16,255 buyers is the lowest of the seven. The listing states a 1.2 metre cable, a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response, an in-line mic and water resistance.

  • Plug: 3.5mm
  • Cable: 1.2 metres
  • Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz
  • Water resistant: Yes, per the listing

Good

  • Lowest price of the seven by far.
  • Water resistance stated in the listing.

Watch out

  • Lowest rating here, at 3.5.

How we compared

We opened each Amazon.in product page on 10 Oct 2026, 15:26 IST and copied down the price, the rating, the number of ratings, the seller rank inside In-Ear Headphones, and every specification each listing states. Where a listing doesn't state something, such as driver size or cable length, the table says so instead of guessing.

We have not worn or listened to these earphones ourselves. This page compares what each listing, its rating and its stated specifications say, so you can narrow the choice without opening seven tabs. Sound quality is personal, and no listing can tell you how a pair will fit your ears.
