Quick verdict
For most people, HealthSense is the safe pick at ₹1,999, with 4.3 from 15,474 ratings. On a tight budget, Asbob's 3 in 1 is the #1 Facial Steamer at ₹253, but fill it with tap water, not RO. If auto power off matters to you, Newnik's V108 is the only listing here that names it.
A steam vaporizer is a small electric pot that boils water and sends the steam toward your nose or face. In India, most people buy one for a blocked nose during a cold. Amazon.in files most of them under Facial Steamers.
We compared six steam vaporizers sold on Amazon.in. We looked at the price, the water capacity, the power, the safety features each listing names, the rating, how many buyers stand behind it and the rank. Every number comes from the product pages on 31 Oct 2026, 03:48 IST.
Steam won't cure a cold, and hot water can scald. The advice near the end covers what the research says and how to keep children safe.

How to choose
What steam can and can't do for a cold
The NHS lists breathing in steam as one way to ease a blocked nose. Its example is sitting in the bathroom with a hot shower running. That's relief for a symptom. It isn't a cure.
The research is thin. A Cochrane review found six trials with 387 people, all published between 1987 and 1995. Its authors said it was uncertain whether heated, humidified air relieves cold symptoms. It found no effect on how much virus people shed. Two studies reported minor side effects.
Keep steam away from children
Boiling water burns. The NHS says not to let children breathe in steam from a bowl of hot water, because of the risk of scalding. A steamer still holds very hot water, so the same care applies.
Our advice, not an NHS rule: keep the steamer on a flat, steady table, out of a child's reach. Unplug it before you open or refill it. Never leave a child alone with it running. Newnik's listing calls its steamer suitable for kids, but that's the brand's claim.
Check what water it needs
Most cheap steamers here need tap water. Crescent's listing explains why. RO water is a poor conductor of electricity, so it slows the steam. Asbob's and PharmEasy's listings suggest a pinch of salt when no steam comes. Wonder's listing rules out hard water too.
If your home drinks RO water, fill the steamer from a tap instead. Our RO purifier guide covers the drinking water side.
Look for auto shut off
Only one of our six, Newnik's V108, names auto power off on its listing. Beurer's SI 31 lists an auto shut off after 15 minutes too. It had only 48 ratings when we checked, so it isn't in our six.
If a listing doesn't name auto shut off, assume it has none. Set a timer on your phone and switch it off at the wall. Asbob's listing suggests sessions of up to 5 minutes. PharmEasy's suggests 5 to 10.
Balms, oils and tank size
Many listings suggest adding balms or oils. Caresmith's Bloom keeps them in a separate chamber, away from the water. HealthSense and Newnik include an aroma tray. Follow your manual, and ask a doctor before you add any medicine.
Tank size sets how long one fill lasts. Caresmith claims up to 16 minutes from 170 ml. A steamer won't fix dry air in a room, though. That's a humidifier's job.

₹1,999
4.3 out of 5 on Amazon.in (15,474 ratings)

HealthSense sat at #2 in Amazon.in's Facial Steamers list when we checked. Its 4.3 rating rests on 15,474 ratings. That ties for the top rating in this guide, and the pool behind it is about 14 times Caresmith's.
The listing calls it a nano ionic steamer. It says a heating element and an ultrasonic vaporizer work together, and it claims mist in 50 seconds. It also claims UV steam sterilization. The listing shows no test for that claim, so treat it as the brand's own. It draws 280 W and holds 200 ml, per the detail table.
- Price: ₹1,999
- Water capacity: 200 ml
- Power: 280 W
- Auto shut off on the listing: Not mentioned

- Made in: China
Good
- 4.3 from 15,474 ratings

Watch out
- The highest price here, ₹1,999

Before you pay: The box list in the detail table doesn't name a nose mask. The title says steam inhaler, so check the photos or ask the seller if you need one.

₹253
3.8 out of 5 on Amazon.in (16,981 ratings)

The listing is open about how it works. It says the steamer works best with normal tap water, and that RO water may not make steam. Its fix is to fill to the max line and add a small pinch of salt. It suggests sessions of up to 5 minutes. Wash it with lukewarm water before first use, it adds, to cut any plastic smell.
- Price: ₹253
- Water capacity: 300 ml

Before you pay: If your home drinks RO water, plan to fill it from a tap. The listing's own FAQ names low TDS water as the usual reason for no steam.
3. Wonder Steam Inhaler Sauna Vaporizer: budget runner up
₹348
3.9 out of 5 on Amazon.in (12,536 ratings)
₹348 (as of 31 Oct 2026, 03:48 IST)

4. Caresmith Bloom 2 in 1 Face Steamer and Steamer for Cold & Cough, 170 ml: longest stated run time
₹1,749
4.3 out of 5 on Amazon.in (1,099 ratings)
₹1,749 (as of 31 Oct 2026, 03:48 IST)
Caresmith's Bloom sat at #6 in Facial Steamers with 4.3 from 1,099 ratings. That ties HealthSense for the top rating here, but the pool is far smaller. It cost ₹1,749.
The listing says its 170 ml tank gives sessions of up to 16 minutes. It heats up in about 80 seconds, per the brand. At 430 W, it's the most powerful unit here on paper. A separate chamber holds a balm or oil, so it doesn't go in the water. The brand says the tank and nozzle are designed to stop hot water from spilling or spraying out.
- Price: ₹1,749
- Water capacity: 170 ml
- Power: 430 W
- Run time (brand): Up to 16 minutes
- Auto shut off on the listing: Not mentioned

5. Newnik V108 Steam Inhaler and Vaporizer with Metal Container: best for safety features
₹1,982
4.1 out of 5 on Amazon.in (4,772 ratings)
₹1,982 (as of 31 Oct 2026, 03:48 IST)
Newnik's V108 is the only one of our six whose listing names auto power off. The listing adds two heat levels. At ₹1,982, it had 4.1 from 4,772 ratings. It ranked #16 in Facial Steamers and #34 in Allergy, Sinus & Asthma.
Per the listing, the water boils in a metal container, not against plastic. The box list names a nasal mask, a facial mask, an aroma tray and a measuring cup. Newnik's detail table gives a capacity of 50 ml, the smallest figure here. It draws 120 W. Newnik makes it in India and lists a 1 year warranty.
- Price: ₹1,982

₹1,799
4.0 out of 5 on Amazon.in (10,381 ratings)

Dr Trust's 3-in-1 sat at #5 in Facial Steamers with 4.0 from 10,381 ratings. It cost ₹1,799. Nureca makes it, and the listing gives India as the country of origin.
This is a facial steamer first. The listing adds a towel warming chamber. It says it can run as a room humidifier, starting within 30 seconds. You can also steam a blocked nose with it, per the brand. Per the detail table, it holds 225 ml and weighs about 1 kg. The detail rows don't list a warranty.

How we compared
We opened each Amazon.in product page on 31 Oct 2026, 03:48 IST and copied the price, the rating, the number of ratings, the rank in Facial Steamers and the details each listing gives. That means capacity, power, warranty and auto shut off. Where a listing doesn't name a feature, the table says so.
We didn't buy these steamers, so nothing here describes how they steam in a home. The health advice comes from the NHS and a Cochrane review. Prices on Amazon.in change often, so yours may differ from the price on the day we checked. Amazon.in files most of these under Beauty, and our beauty section has more skin care guides.
Questions people ask
Which steam vaporizer is best in India?
On the day we checked, HealthSense had 4.3 from 15,474 ratings at ₹1,999, the best mix of rating and buyers. Asbob's 3 in 1 led the Facial Steamers list at ₹253. Newnik's V108 was the only one of our six whose listing names auto power off.
Does steam inhalation help a cold?
It may ease a blocked nose for a while. The NHS lists steam from a hot shower as one way to do that. A Cochrane review called it uncertain whether heated, humidified air relieves cold symptoms, and it found no effect on the virus.
Is a steam vaporizer safe for children?
The NHS says not to let children breathe in steam from a bowl of hot water, because of the risk of scalding. A steamer holds very hot water too. Keep it out of a child's reach and never leave it running with a child alone.
Why is my steamer not making steam?
Cheap steamers often need tap water. Listings from Asbob, Wonder and Crescent say RO water can stop the steam. Fill to the max line with tap water. Asbob's listing suggests a small pinch of salt if steam still doesn't come.
Can a steamer work as a room humidifier?
Dr Trust's listing says its 3-in-1 can humidify a room, but it holds only 225 ml. A humidifier is built for that job. Our humidifier guide compares those.
